It's true that he did tell Viktor to believe in him but the circumstances were different then. This isn't about his abilities as a skater but him as a person...the two are same but different. A subtle difference that he had no plans on vocalizing, and even though Viktor had just told him that he was going to keep believing him on the general whole, it was like a bandage.

On the one hand, he could let Yuuri just mull over his thoughts in the shower, but for some reason that also doesn't quite settle right with him and he debates a long moment. ]

[ Honestly, there isn't anything sexual meant in this offer to take a shower with him, basically. They have, after all, bathed together in the past and had some very intimate-like moments while in the onsen together.

[ There was the obvious chance that Viktor would have caught his hand and would have chased after him. He often did that whenever Yuuri tried running away from him, but there was the off chance that Viktor could have given him space and allowed Yuuri to his thoughts.
It wan't always the best option to chase after Yuuri, after all. He doesn't exactly flinch when Viktor grabs at his hand but he does have to fight the instinct to jerk away from the touch. The invitation doesn't even register as something sexual in his mind. ...mainly because they haven't crossed that line in their relationship(??) for him to seriously consider it. ]
It's...okay. [ He makes an attempt to break away and go on his own. His voice is unsure and has traces of tiredness to it. ]
The bath here isn't as big as my family's onsen so, it'd be cramped in there if it were the two of us.
[ Yuuri knows his explanation is one that wouldn't deter Viktor whenever he set his mind on something, nor would it be something to stop either one of them from bathing together in the first place but...not now. He hoped that it would be good enough for now. ]
[ There is an internal debate and it seems to hold a long pause before there is any sort of response from Viktor. His thumb gently rubs over the back of Yuuri's hand. ]

[ There is a reluctance in his voice as his hand lets go of Yuuri's. Honestly, he hates letting Yuuri run away, but he has managed to learn from time-to-time to let Yuuri escape. Just as long as he doesn't withdraw into himself completely. Maybe a tall order, at times, but he can still hope it. ]
[ Vitkor's last gentle touch before he lets go of Yuuri's hand eats at him. Yuuri's sorry, he honestly is, but he also needs this. The distance was important and he wordlessly promises that he'll come back. There were just things that he couldn't just simply take in all at once.
Viktor might be someone who could dive head first into something without bothering to think about the circumstances or who it might affect, but Yuuri couldn't. He couldn't just accept that this was "home". This was all temporary. A home isn't something that's temporary; a home is somewhere where someone belongs.
(But had Yuuri ever felt like he belonged anywhere?) ]
