[ Poor Yuuri's mind is going a mile a minute about what to do and if he really had a type to begin with. The only person ever that has crossed Yuuri's mind as anything attractive in that sense had always been Viktor. There might have been an idle thought here or there about Yuuko but they never bloomed into anything.
The thoughts keep pouring into his mind up until Viktor pokes his cheek and causes Yuuri to look up bewildered at what he just said. It's obviously flattering that Viktor picked him over all others as his "type"—Yuuri can't deny that he wondered about that from time to time. Viktor loved him so much but...was he really his "type"? ]
Eh? [ Well, that's what Viktor was going to say in the matter and Yuuri was now his "type". He doesn't miss the way that he's showing off the ring and nervously shows off his as well. Neither does the host or any of the other men in the lobby area. ...strangely, they don't seem to be too bothered. ]
A couple. I see that you're one of those types... I know just who to suggest then! Just follow me to your table and I'll have your host come to your table soon enough.
[ Of course she's getting weird thoughts about it. Not that Viktor cares. This probably will be the last time they ever come into the place, even if he would consider a place like this for employment. Ultimately, he probably wouldn't.
One hand plants on the back of Yuuri's back and he starts to guide him where the woman is leading them. No need to be shy. No need at all. They've come this far, they might as well finish the show.
Moments like this when Viktor being Viktor is awful for Yuuri, probably. ]
[ Silently Yuuri is trying to communicate with Viktor (completely ignoring the fact that he actually could do this) to tell him that they could have totally picked out a different place to eat but the way that Viktor was ushering him deeper into the restaurant following their host to their table. There were other people around them, but not too uncomfortably close, chatting away with their chosen host while enjoying their meal. Apparently some of the hosts were feeding the customers while others were just chatting away.
It...seemed harmless. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad? Yuuri had known about the infamous Host Clubs back home but this didn't seem to have the same flare or punch as the ones he knew of. That was nice. The food smelled good too so maybe it wasn't going to be bad. Yeah!
He's not completely comfortable but he's definitely not as tense as he takes a seat. Their hostess pours them each a glass of water before leaving to go fetch their hosts. ]
I... I can't believe you went along with this.
[ He manages to stay as he immediately reaches out for his glass of water. He isn't thirsty but he needs something to hang onto. ]
[ When they're delivered to their space, Viktor slides in the spot next to Yuuri. Sure, he's not the jealous type, but he rather their host sit across from him so he can basically drape on his boyfriend, or whatever he is.
On the one hand, he could reassure him that he wouldn't let anything happen to him, but he's doing that enough with physical communication, right? Yeah. Totally. So he leans more against him and reaches with his free hand to take a drink of the water. He is a little bit thirsty, after all. ]
At least it's better than the apartment incident!
[ Stated proudly and probably doing the opposite of helping, reminding Yuuri of that situation. Look, it was funny now that it was in the past and they could laugh at it after the fact. Right? Yep. Totally. ]
[ All Yuuri ever asks for is Viktor to comfort him when he needs comfort and to support him when he needs support. Why are these very basic things seemingly impossible for him to do? Yuuri doesn't protest feeling of Viktor leaning against him, if anything it eases his nerves a bit. A plus and a step forward until Viktor mentions the apartment debacle and then Yuuri finds himself staring into his drink as if it holds all of the answers to the universe.
Viktor could be thirsty enough for the two of them as Yuuri began to wonder if this wasn't going to become a somewhat regular occurrence between them. There could only be so many weird fetish-y themed places in all of Empatheias, right? Eventually they'll hit them all.
...the fact that they might hit them all....... ]
Y...yeah...
[ Yuuri's going to remain despondent even as two handsome men looking vaguely like Viktor and Yuuri themselves taking seats across of them. The Not!Viktor across from Yuuri, smiling every pleasantly and the Not!Yuuri across from Viktor smiling a bit shyly. Once seated, they presented the menu to both of them. They wanted to give Yuuri some time before speaking, of course. The guy was definitely going through something. ]
[ Now that they have their company, Viktor retreats to speaking with his amulet and focusing solely on Yuuri. He keeps his pleasant smile at the other two and his hand rests gently on Yuuri's arm.
Okay, enough is enough. He's been having his fun, but it's obvious that Yuuri is practically melting down here. He can tease him a bit about it later when they're in private, but ah. Some way to make Yuuri relax. ]
Yuuri? Are you okay over there?
[ Because, honestly, if this is going to overwhelm him too much then he won't even get to enjoy the food and soon those emotions are going to start manifesting and causing a lot of problem. ]
[ The teasing hadn't gotten too out of hand, but a break from all of the madness might have been nice. He was pretty okay with things a bit earlier until he started to think about how things could keep going wrong between them. Which he really didn't want to have happen.
The presence of Viktor's hand on his arm brings him back from his thoughts a bit, but they're immediately stopped cold once he "speaks" to him. The whole telepathy bit was never going to be normal ever. ]
I... I'm fine. Thank you, Viktor.
[ There's a stutter even in his mind as he tries to play it off. He doesn't want to ruin their outing even if he had reservations before. Doing his best, Yuuri will smile politely at the hosts sitting before them and look down at the menu—fancy and fill of foods he didn't exactly recognize but they all sounded fine. ]
You just have to make this up to me later.
[ Yuuri hadn't meant to think that to Viktor but it was too late to take it back. ]
[ That last statement isn't something he expect, but it does delight him. HE knows that things sometimes slip out unintended and he can guess that this might be one of those things. Admittedly, it's nice to have Yuuri being a bit "selfish" with him and he'll bring it up later, when they're out of this place.
Since that's settled and Yuuri doesn't look like he's scrambling for sanity, he'll turn his attention back onto the boys that are sitting with him and beam brightly at them. Menus! They had menus. And he grabs one, unfolding it in front of him and Yuuri. ]
[ Viktor better not make it too obvious that he heard what Yuuri thought to himself and had not meant to share with him or otherwise that'd just be another mess that would need to be cleaned up.
Still, he'll let Viktkor open up the menu for the both of them and Yuuri gets a better view of what is being offered by the restaurant. Honestly, he would have protested it just a little but given how he didn't have much of an opinion on what there was to eat it all looked good. ]
I'd be fine with whatever you want. [ ...not that any sort of opinion would have stopped Viktor from ordering whatever he wanted to order. Except there was one difference here than there was back home. ] Just be mindful of the prices.
[ Their hosts sit prettily across from them and are still waiting for them to finish conversing among themselves before speaking. Yuuri was worried that they'd get upset given how they're being largely ignored but it doesn't seem to be that way. However, one of them does speak up once they heard Yuuri's concerns about money. ]
There's a cold-weather couple's special if you're interested in that~ It's a full four-course meal that comes with a bottle of one of our favorite wines.
[ Let's hope Viktor doesn't make a big deal about it. Then again, communication issues. He sometimes says all the wrong things and doesn't know when to stop. But he can get easily distracted. Who knows...
Of course he'd be mindful of the prices. He does understand how money works, even if he does have plenty of it back home. It's not like he tried to bully Yuuri into actually getting first class tickets back home and, in fact, joined him in coach where he could have easily upgraded himself.
But that suggestion is, in fact, very welcome. It does sound like it'd be suited for them. ]
I think that sounds charming! What do you think, Yuuri?
[ As long as Viktor doesn't lay on their bed naked and say something embarrassing, things should be fine. ]
That sounds fine.
[ Yuuri replies with a bit a nod and a muted smile. He didn't look too closely to the options, but he figured that it wouldn't be anything that he wouldn't like. Of course Yuuri had his favorites and dislikes, but he wasn't a picky eater.
And with their meal option decided, one of their hosts takes away the menus from both of them and goes off to put in their order and fetch the wine. The one that remains smiles at them with their entire being feeling that things were finally able to move forward into a more "normal" meal. ]
So, now that we're all settled in, why don't you start telling me about yourselves? You're both otherworlders, correct? [ Another glance at the rings on their fingers. ] A devoted couple from home or one that bloomed here?
[ Well, it is Viktor. One shouldn't put that potential out of his realm of doing. ]
We're together from home. [ Of course he noticed the glancing at the rings and spares his own look at them with a smile on his face. ] Yuuri gave this to me just before we were drawn to this world. I couldn't be happier.
[ And, in fact, there's that gentle coolness that rises in the air, akin time they exchanged the rings. It's not enough to chill anyone, but here is a soft crispness in the air from it. Of course, it helps that they were honest with things once they arrived here to help secure this happiness they have. Sure, there will probably be hiccups because it's them, but they'll make it through it all. ]
Unlike Viktor with his comfort and easiness regarding their relationship, Yuuri is still very quiet about it. He's not ashamed of their "relationship"—it had become one of the few things in his life that he treasured. Even though he had been willing to let go of it all for, what he perceived, to be the best for Viktor it wasn't a decision that he had made easily.
That aside, hearing Viktor talk about the ring and how happy he was made him flush. He doesn't miss the soft crisp air that emits from Viktor, but does miss the way he reciprocates the same kind of air. ]
Yuuri, is it? How cute. [ He'll give Yuuri a look, this time less predatory and more warmly. Regardless, he'll lean into Viktor's side almost shyly. ] Does that mean you two are married? That's how things work here.
Sorry Viktor despite of the touching feelings that he was emitting, Yuuri immediately sits straight and stiff like a board. He doesn't peel away from Viktor's side but he does bring his hands in front of himself. ]
N, no! It's nothing like that!
[ The second host comes back as Yuuri is trying to defend(?)...explain(?) himself. Granted his reaction makes both of the hosts confused. They were told that they were a couple and given the response from Viktor, he had thought so too. ]
[ His voice trails off and he's completely uncertain of how to answer. At this point, Yuuri's calmed down and shyly looking up at Viktor. This was the problem with unspoken things. Viktor certainly would be okay with it. From how he felt for Yuuri and with the rings and everything...
However, he just doesn't see how he can decide this on his own like this right now in front of these people. ]
[ Viktor most certainly doesn't want to live alone. Being naked on the bed is no reason for Yuuri to evict himself!
But in the case of Yuuri getting flustered and uncertain how to answer things, well, it's time for Viktor to step up in this case. It's true, though, that they're not wedding rings. He'd never thought of them as that without some type of formal thing. Besides, even if someone like Phichit would be excited for them either way, he knows if they did get married, Yuuri would want his best friend there.
His arm tightens around Yuuri and he leans his head to rest against him, looking bright and cheerful. ]
They're engagement rings, of course! We'll get married after Yuuri earns his gold back at home.
[ What a proud to-be-husband and coach. The fondness just oozes off of Viktor. ]
[ It completely is if it is done to try to seduce him.
And for as bright and cheerful as Viktor is, Yuuri's face both pales and flushes a deep red. Yuuri had looked to Viktor for some sort of answer as to what they were and he had been expecting was some sort of confirmation of perhaps if they were together or not. What he got was something completely different.
Yuuri wanted to know if they were a couple—obviously he knew Viktor cared for him deep enough that he wanted to be with him—but what he got instead was that he was suddenly engaged.
As Viktor's answer continues to sink him, Yuuri looks between their hosts, who look as if they're deciding between awing or being confused why they were here. Clearly they weren't that kind of couple. ]
W..we...are?
[ You realize this also puts a lot of pressure on him to get gold now, right? Viktor did you completely forget about Yuuri's anxieties? ]
[ It wouldn't necessarily be to seduce him! Viktor's just eccentric, okay...
Well, at least Yuuri knows how deeply attached Viktor is to him. Maybe not the time or the place. And sorry, host boys, they're a ridiculous couple with a very ridiculous half in the pair.
While it isn't a protest, it's certainly not Yuuri confirming his feelings for Viktor in a mutual sense. Sure, the rings were "good luck charms" but also Viktor was under the impression they could be so much more. A promise to be together until the end. Granted, their "end" points were a bit different when the rings were exchanged. ]
Aren't we? Or is it because we've only kissed the once?
[ VIKTOR CAN YOU NOT? Also, deep apologies to the pair that are probably extremely baffled on the other side of the table because of their awkward selves. ]
But to say the very least, the other two hosts are indeed extremely confused if not slightly amused by what was happening. Clearly there was a disconnect between the two of them. It was kind of a mystery how any couple get this far into any kind of relationship without discussing things further, one would think. They don't say anything, however, they do help themselves to cocktails that a waitress brings by.
Who cares about needing to do their jobs as a host; they were about to get a show. It would be quite the show as well as Yuuri turns an immediate beet red as soon as Viktor mentions their kiss. Sure it was displayed on public television, but that was at home and not here. Also he was caught up in the moment. ]
V, Viktor—!
[ His eyes dart from Viktor to their hosts who are leaning against one another and both urging Yuuri and Viktor to go on. ]
Is... Is this really the time for something like this?
It's good to give the hosts a break, for once. They can have a nice little show and enjoy a good meal. Not a bad night, right? Especially when the two sitting in front of them are attractive and adorable as hell.
Modesty isn't exactly Viktor's strong point. Sure, he's pulled Yuuri to private places, but that's only been when it's been to attempt to relax Yuuri. Otherwise, Viktor doesn't really think about certain topics being off limits. He's just not reserved like Yuuri is. Crazy Russian. ]
Why not? Our hosts don't seem to mind. [ So what's wrong??? ] Yuuri... You're the one that declared "愛" to be your theme on television. Why is this such a bad topic?
[ SO HOW COULD HE BE EMBARRASSED NOW? And all their PDA. Sure, it was show-related or being so emotionally charged from what had happened on the ice, but... Viktor sucks at time and place things. ]
Actually really do think of Yuuri's heart. The hosts don't really follow what "television" is but they figure that it's something public related given the context. They wished they could understand follow better especially when Viktor mentions a word they don't recognize at all. Something that Yuuri will be grateful for since as soon as Viktor mentions it—his face burns harder.
He was really going to make them do this right now, wasn't he? ]
Because Viktor— [ Yuuri tries to find the words to explain himself. It should be obvious why not! This was a private matter and something important to discuss in private as well. Eventually he'll look down away from everyone else and at the table. ]
...do we really have to talk about this right now?
[ Maybe Yuuri should be a lot more forward about the fact that he'd rather not talk about this in front of them specifically because Viktor just tilts his head some at that question. Why should they put off talking about it to any later in the game? ]
Why shouldn't we?
[ Sorry, hosts, Viktor can sometimes be a bit dense about these things and even more sorry to Yuuri for having fallen for this hot mess of a man. ]
[ Just from this brief interaction thus far, the hosts are definitely enjoying themselves and what they're witnessing. Maybe other people might feel as if they'd be intruding on something private, however they certainly don't. It was as though they were watching a real-life drama unfold.
Something that Yuuri gets a whiff of and makes it harder for him to answer. Honestly, did Viktor not see how their hosts were (apparently) on their second drink and were munching away on their appetizers? A small plate of lightly battered and fried vegetables and meats that made Yuuri think of tempura. (WHEN HAD ALL OF THIS ARRIVED?!) ]
Later.
[ He removes himself from Viktor's side and looks down at the table. He also grabs what he assumes is shrimp tempura and holds it to his lips. ]
[ Ouch. That was a blatant rejection when Yuuri peels away from him. If this made him that uncomfortable, Yuuri should have said something from the start. How was he supposed to know? (Read the atmosphere, Viktor.)
But it's amazing what results come when things are properly asked, or told. ]
Later, then. [ There isn't a sulkiness in his voice at that point. Since he's showing Yuuri that he isn't upset to be told to wait on this factor. Maybe if they were somewhere else or if it seemed like Yuuri wouldn't continue the topic, he'd press harder.
Sorry, hosts, show's over and Viktor can't help but let out a sigh at this point. The air felt a lot more tense and a lot less fun than when he initially dragged Yuuri in here. ]
[ The more mild looking host chimes in hopes to break some of the awkwardness that had settled around the table. Yuuri doesn't say anything and instead just keeps nibbling at the shrimp. It tastes good and is seasoned surprisingly well.
Yuuri's silence gets the mild host to chuckle a bit awkwardly and look to his companion who instead just gestures for the food to come and be placed at the table. Apparently the rest of the dishes were to be eaten family style—with the exception of dessert which hadn't been brought out yet.
It all looks great and Yuuri wastes no time silently helping himself to the food. Or, well, that's what Yuuri tries to do, but instead gets his hand politely batted away from the main dishes and instead has portions served to him to eat. Clearly there's some hesitation while handling the cutlery as one of the hosts seems to want to feed Yuuri instead of letting him feed himself. ]
NOT ALL OF IT!!!
The thoughts keep pouring into his mind up until Viktor pokes his cheek and causes Yuuri to look up bewildered at what he just said. It's obviously flattering that Viktor picked him over all others as his "type"—Yuuri can't deny that he wondered about that from time to time. all of it
One hand plants on the back of Yuuri's back and he starts to guide him where the woman is leading them. No need to be shy. No need at all. They've come this far, they might as well finish the show.

[ "In front of them"? ]

Why shouldn't we?
[ Sorry, hosts, Viktor can sometimes be a bit dense about these things and even more sorry to Yuuri for having fallen for this hot mess of a man. ]

Please, Viktor.
